About

Hey!  My name is Angela and I am a new mommy.  I have been married for 8 years to my high school sweetheart, Mister.  After graduating college and getting married in the same week, we left our little town outside of Detroit and moved to Atlanta, GA.  We have a 7-year-old Doberman named Chase and an awesome son, Sonshine (<–nickname & he’ll go by many more nicknames throughout this blog).

Mister and I were not on the parent track.  In fact, we decided to live the childless life of staying up late binge watching Netflix movies, having UFC & Halo parties, eating at restaurants several times a week and just being as carefree as possible.  But as fate would have it, 4 years into marriage we were blessed with the best life-changing news we would ever receive: we were going to have a little bambino.

I’m not going to lie, I was in denial most of my pregnancy.  I could clearly see that this little person was affecting my body due to constant nausea, yet unending hunger and elephant cankles, but I imagined that he would stay in there forever.  That is an awful thought, by the way.  That I could just have the easier mommy-to-be title, than doing all of the actual mom work (ya know, butt wiper, booger cleaner, boo-boo kisser, snack packer, bug killer, cook, maid, chauffeur, activity planner, coat carrier, teacher, disciplinarian, counselor, and any other unsavory job that moms do.).

I was a corporate girl and never wanted to be a housewife.  It just didn’t seem fun/fulfilling/fill in the blank with any boring, redundant adjective.  Oh, how things have changed.  I want to soak up and enjoy every moment that I get to be with him.  He is the light of my life, the apple of my eye, the peanut butter to my… well, you get what I mean.  He has changed my life forever and I am truly grateful.  I want to be there for every milestone and teach him how to be a good person.  So now learning to be a stay-at-home mom is fun/fulfilling/fill in the blank with any awesome adjective.  Did I mention that I’m getting into the whole “natural living” thing?  Yeah… I’m learning to do it all and YOU my dear can come along for the ride!

Xoxo,
Angela
